We will plant a tree for every 500 miles traveled to Peverel House.
This is the beginning of our journey to carbon neutral.
Traveling 500 miles in a standard diesel car generates between 0.14/0.16 tonnes of CO2.
A tree sequesters roughly 167kg CO2 per year. For every 500 miles travelled to Peverel House we will plant a tree.
A journey from Brighton to Tideswell is almost 250 miles. We use a round trip for our calculation so we would plant a tree for this journey.
Alongside our sedum roof we estimate we will offset up to 6.46 tonnes of CO2 annually. And its just the beginning...we have more plans to reduce our emissions with our ultimate goal to be completely carbon neutral, you can stay up to date with our progress here
Initially we will be planting via The National Trust* . The National Trust looks after 17,500 hectares of the Peak District. They're actively working on reversing the tree decline in High Peak with the Clough Woodland project and managing the threat of Ash Dieback in the White Peak.
*As a business we are not affiliated with The National Trust but we personally support their efforts through membership and donation, supporting their goal of planting 20 million trees by 2030
